About Bir Billing

Bir Billing Himachal’s thrilling paragliding destination amidst the majestic Dhauladhar mountains

Bir Billing is the paragliding capital of Asia and one of the top paragliding sites in the entire world. Bir is the landing site, while Billing at 2,400 metres is the take-off point — together they offer one of the world’s longest paragliding runs, with flights that can last up to 2 hours covering over 25 kilometres of breathtaking Kangra Valley scenery.

Beyond paragliding, Bir is a beautiful destination in its own right — a small Tibetan colony with ancient monasteries, meditation centres, organic cafes, and mountain biking trails. The Chokling Monastery and Palpung Sherabling Monastery are among Bir’s most visited Buddhist sites.

October to June is the best window for paragliding, with October–December and March–May offering the clearest skies and most stable thermals. Paragliding is typically suspended during the monsoon (July–September) due to unpredictable weather, though the destination itself is beautiful year round.

Absolutely. Bir is a wonderful destination independent of paragliding. The Tibetan Colony, Chokling Monastery, Billing Meadow viewpoints, Baijnath Temple, organic cafés, and mountain biking trails make it a rewarding trip for non-fliers too. Just mention your preference when you enquire.

Absolutely. All our packages are fully customisable — extra days, different hotels, more sightseeing, adjusted pickup points, or a combined trip with nearby Dharamshala or Palampur. We design the trip around you, not the other way around.
